tablet pc vs laptop
Both these netbooks are currently some of the newest and most popular models in the market. Although they are both 10.1-inch netbooks, I must say that there is where the similarity ends. Both these netbooks have very different features and are catered for different segments of the market. The Asus Eee PC 1005PE can be considered as a high-end netbook while the Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 would be an entry-level model. The Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 Netbook comes with a set of basic specs that include an Intel Atom N270 processor, 160GB for storage and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Other features include 802.11b/g wi-fi, a 1.3MP web cam and 4 USB ports. Design wise, the Dell netbook sports a classic and professional design. Like many dell computers, the Dell mini comes in a variety of colors. The battery on this model can last up to 8 hours on a single charge.
The Asus Eee PC 1005PE on the other hand comes with the new (and energy efficient) Intel Atom N450 processor. It has 1GB of RAM and a larger 250GB hard drive. Then there are other features like Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n wi-fi a long battery life. This netbook can last up to a whopping 14 hours on one charge. It sports the Asus ‘seashell’ design (complete with a chicklet style keyboard) that looks very sleek. Both these netbook comes with the new Windows 7 Starter OS. The Asus Eee PC 1005PE is currently priced at around $367 while the Dell model is about $70 cheaper. I think that the $70 is a small price to pay for the 14-hour battery life, larger 250GB hard drive and the extra features.
